Docs Delivering to Clients

The Report Portal

This page tells you what your client sees. The Report portal shows the Report Snapshots that you deliver to their Organization, and nothing else from your account.

On your custom domain, the sign-in page shows your Company Name and no Deepwell branding. Inside the portal, the sidebar reads "Powered by Deepwell." That is the only place that names Deepwell to your client, and you can contact Deepwell to remove it.

First, invite a contact at an Organization. See Organizations and Mapped Organizations. The contact then signs in to your portal, on a page headed Sign in that offers Sign in with Microsoft. See Sign Up and Sign In. The portal shows your brand color if you set one, and it moves to your own domain if you set up a custom domain. See White Label and Custom Domain.

The contact goes straight to their Reports, with no separate dashboard before them. If you add the contact to the email list of a Report, they also get an email with a link each time you deliver it. See Who gets an email when a Report Snapshot is delivered.

Where your clients sign in

Your clients sign in on the same page as you and your team. Its address is the address that you use to sign in to Deepwell, which ends in /login. On the default Deepwell address, this page shows Deepwell branding.

When your custom domain reads Activated, give your clients the /login address on your domain. There, the page shows your Company Name in place of Deepwell, and it tells a person who has no account to contact you. Give this address to a contact who doesn't have an invitation email, or whose invitation email doesn't open a sign-in page when they select Get Started.

An address that ends in /org/login doesn't open a sign-in page. If a contact saved that address, give them the /login address.

What your client sees

The Report portal under your brand: the Reports list with Report Snapshots, and the delivered Quarterly Business Review with its header, summary, hero values, and charts.
The Report portal shows your client the Reports you delivered.

A sidebar shows each Report that you delivered to their Organization, and the contact can search them by name if there are many.

Each Report has a status indicator. Green means that no delivered Report Snapshot of the Report has a problem, and red means that a part of at least one of them failed. Each Report also shows the number of Report Snapshots that it has.

When the contact selects a Report, the portal opens its most recent Report Snapshot immediately, with each Page in order if there is more than one. The sidebar also opens a list of the delivered Report Snapshots under that Report, newest first, each showing the date and time of its run and a number, where #1 is the newest. The contact selects one to open it, or moves through them with the previous control and the next control.

The portal shows each Report Snapshot in the same way as your own view of it. See View Report Snapshots.

Your client can read but not change the Annotations in a delivered Report Snapshot.

Deepwell sends no analytics and no session recording from the portal on your custom domain.

Your client sees less than you see, because the portal shows delivered Report Snapshots only. Your client can't see these types of Report Snapshot:

  • A Report Snapshot that waits for Manual delivery.
  • A Report Snapshot that you did not deliver, for example one with a failed block that Deepwell held back.

You can read each of these Report Snapshots in your own view. A Report Snapshot with a failed block that you deliver is visible to your client, with its warning.

Before you deliver your first Report Snapshot, the portal tells your client: "Reports will appear here once they have been created and shared with your organization." There are no other actions for your client until then.

Who gets access

Each contact that you invite for an Organization can sign in and read the same Reports, so access isn't limited to one primary contact.
